The Greco Family: Fields to Modern Agriculture

The story of Greco Società Agricola S.r.l. is a true tale of tradition and innovation rooted in San Vito dei Normanni, in Italy’s sun-kissed region of Puglia.

It all began in the 1950s, when the Greco grandparents started cultivating land near Torre Guaceto, growing artichokes and other vegetables for local markets. Their dedication to the soil and sustainable farming practices became the foundation of the family’s legacy.

By the 1980s, the next generation expanded into vegetable processing and preservation, allowing the family to add value to their harvest and reach new markets. This step turned a humble farm into a growing agribusiness.

In 2007, the family formalized their operations as Greco Società Agricola S.r.l., marking a new era of professional growth while staying true to their roots. Today, the company cultivates hundreds of hectares, employing dozens of workers and producing high-quality vegetables — especially the famous “Carciofo Brindisino” artichoke which we are privileged to offer in our range at Edesia.

Across three generations, the Greco family has blended tradition with technology, transforming their fields into a model of modern, sustainable Italian agriculture. Their story reflects the spirit of Puglia itself — hardworking, family-driven, and deeply connected to the land.
