About Edesia
The heart of our identity stems from our name—Edesia, the Roman Goddess of Food. She presided over grand banquets, ensuring that each feast was a resounding success and that every dish served was of unparalleled quality. Derived from Latin, ‘Edes’ meaning to ‘eat’ or ‘consume,’ our mission to celebrate excellent produce and the traditions of coming together and sharing culinary experiences.
Edesia represents a profound commitment to sourcing and exhibiting the finest ingredients the Mediterranean has to offer. Discover more about our unwavering passion for the authenticity and quality each of our products is enriched with.
Superior Ingredients
Edesia is dedicated to curating Mediterranean treasures, meticulously chosen by a team of experts with decades of experience in the premium restaurant and hospitality sectors.
Our unwavering commitment to people, superior quality, variety, and consistency forms the foundation of our values. Our rigorous standards ensure that every product we offer meets the highest benchmarks of quality.
Some of our ingredients hold the highly respected PDO or PGI recognition. The Protected Designation of Origin mark of excellence is a systematic way for the European Union to protect and preserve the authenticity of the foods from specific regional areas. A PDO marked product must be traditionally manufactured and processed entirely within a specific region to gain this accolade.
PGI ingredients are those again, that have a geographical origin lending to either the quality of, the goodwill of, or another characteristic attributable to them. Unlike the PDO, the Protected Geographical Indication label allows for partial manufacturing outside of the geographical area to which it is associated.
